The Full Story
About Me
Growing up in a single-parent home, college was once off the table, and the words "it is just to expensive" were frequently said. Now I am fortunate to attend the University of Saint Mary with my bill paid thanks to scholarship opportunities and extracurriculars that poured into my journey of success. However, the opportunities did not stop at the classroom, as I now live out my childhood dream of playing collegiate volleyball.
On the Court
Beginning volleyball at the age of four my love for the game expanded fast, but so did the fees. At the age of fourteen I began traveling around the nation with my club team. This led to larger price tags, bigger gaps in resources to fill, and extra support necessary. Continuing this journey was only possible because of the endless people that poured into me and my journey. Now I have the opportunity to continue this love at the college level with an athletic scholarship and chance to start for a team and sport that I love.
Off the Court
In the classroom, I began early on with resources that led to my success. In high school, I was fortunate to take over a dozen AP Courses and begin an accelerated education early on. Now, I am a year ahead in my studies, hoping to set myself apart on the path to law school. After graduating, I plan to apply to a T-14 law school and start my journey to medical malpractice law. My desire to pursue medical malpractice law comes from losing my grandmother’s brother because of circumstances surrounding his medical care. His story showed me how deeply medical decisions can affect families, and it made me want to be part of creating change.
